Especially if you need to go to another dental office to have the procedure done. At Turnagain Dental, Dr. Kennedy performs all of our oral surgery procedures in the same office. This allows our patients the comfort and convenience of having their surgery done by their own dentist in the same office they go to for everything else. We also strive to make sure that all of your questions are answered prior to your oral surgery procedure so you know what to expect.

  • The consultation – During your oral surgery consultation we will conduct an exam and x-rays in order to get a complete picture of the anatomy of your mouth. We will then go over your x-rays with you and describe what we will be doing and why. We will also give you a list of things to do before the surgery such as fasting, taking medication, and wearing comfortable clothing.
  • The day of – When you come in for your surgery, we will answer any questions you have before administrating a numbing shot or local anesthesia. We will then perform the tooth extraction or dental implant procedure. After the extraction or implant, we will place gauze in your mouth to help form blood clots.
  • Aftercare – We will give your driver a list of aftercare instructions and a prescription to fill on your way home. It is important to follow these instructions so you don’t hinder the healing process of your gums. This includes consuming soft foods for the first few days, avoiding using a straw, and how to clean your teeth and mouth without pulling any stitches.
